Many thanks to Geraldine, Alison and Farah for assisting =D
OWE MONEY PAY... IS A CALL OUT TO ALL NTU STUDENTS.
Owe Money refers to the amount of money they or their sponsors have invested in their uni tuition fees. They have spent it and owe the value of this money to them.
Pay... refers to their own personal choice of how they intend to "pay" back the money. (In the context of how they will make full use of its value). So its up to them to fill up the dots...
If you have 26 weeks of school 20 hours of class a week
You pay... $6600 /year $253.85 /week $12.69 /hour $0.21 /min
The coins represent the money that is already spent. However, their real purchasing power is in your hands.
So what were you doing in your last lecture?
SOMETHING UNEXPECTED CROSSES YOUR PATH...
It was a normal Monday morning and people stream out of their lectures to the busiest canteen in school. It was the usual time, to eat and to relax. But something unexpected turns up, and they stop to look...
A girl was sitting in a lecture. On a lecture chair. She wore the School of Computer Engineering shirt proudly. Slowly, she takes out a coin. One by one. She began to stack them up.
What a waste of time!
Couldn't she find something better to do?
RIGHT CLOSE AND PERSONAL
After a while I left the chair. It amazed me how people started to get much closer to the chair to take a closer look. It kind of attracted more people without me being there. Perhaps Singaporeans are still very shy =p
TALK ABOUT IT!
The responses were really varied. Some people felt that 20 cents a minute is still considered very cheap. Others felt that it was alright, that they still have the right to skip a lecture or two, or just come to lecture and dream away. Some however, felt that they will never skip a lecture again.
But everyone became aware of how much is being invested into their studies. They were part of the few lucky people who can afford and have the ability to earn a place here. Now its up to them.
What will they do about it?
